Yoga classes and workshops in Oxford
Welcome to my website!I am an Oxford-based yoga teacher, teaching a range of yoga classes mostly in north Oxford. I also teach yoga classes all around Oxford city and in London.
*** Autumn 2010 ***
Find balance with continuing vinyasa flow (a dynamic form of hatha yoga moving with the breath) yoga classes. Look out for Autumn Yoga Workshop season, starting September.
Anyone can practise yoga – any age, any level of fitness, any religion or cultural background, any range of flexibility.
About Me
I first trained as a yoga teacher at Yoga Elements in Bangkok and then at the Life Centre in London, gaining the Life Centre Level II Diploma and the British Wheel of Yoga's teaching qualification. I am now a teaching member of the British Wheel of Yoga, which involves regular in-service training, so our teaching is always fresh and well-informed.I have been practising yoga for over 15 years and teaching for six years.
What really excites me about yoga is the incredibly transformative power of the practice. Whether you are lacking in energy, flexibility, strength, focus or peace, yoga can offer so much to enrich your life.
"Bright but hidden, the Self dwells in the heart.
Everything that moves, breathes,
opens, and closes
Lives in the Self. He is the source of love
And may be known through love
but not through thought
He is the goal of life. Attain this goal!"
(Mundaka Upanishad, 112, 113)
Yoga Classes
All my yoga classes include detailed instruction, energising and relaxing sequences and a special focus on the breath. My classes are all-inclusive and non-dogmatic but are firmly grounded in the philosophy of yoga, especially the practice of 'ahimsa' – non-harming, 'santosha' – contentment and 'svadhyaya' – self-study.My yoga classes are also infused with the Buddhist vipassana, or 'insight' meditation I practise.
See Schedule for your next class.
